ADAMAWA STATE ACReSAL FLAGS OFF ONE MILLION TREES DISTRIBUTION AND PLANTING CAMPAIGN!
In a landmark step to combat climate change and regenerate agriculture, the Adamawa State Government has officially launched the distribution and planting of One Million Trees across all 21 Local Government Areas under the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) project.
At the flag-off ceremony, Hon. Commissioner for Environment, Alhaji Mohammed Sadiq, expressed heartfelt appreciation to His Excellency, the Governor, for empowering the Ministry through this impactful collaboration.
“This is a major step toward greening our entire state, restoring degraded lands, and securing a healthier environment for future generations,” he stated.
Dr. Ibrahim Dami Chinda, the State Project Coordinator, encouraged all benefiting households to:
Nurture their trees
Water them consistently
Prune when needed
Protect them from animals and harm
“These trees will offer food, medicine, shade, income—and most importantly, they will help us fight climate change in our environment,” Dr. Chinda added.
Beneficiary households expressed their gratitude and pledged to strictly follow the care guidelines to ensure high survival and impact of the trees.
This initiative marks a bold leap toward a greener, healthier, and climate-resilient Adamawa and Northern Nigeria!
